There have been many late nights in the past couple of weeks. While the elections dominated headlines and conversations around the dinner table, Sens has been keeping me extremely busy with a flurry of earnings reports. The February/March year-end numbers have been coming through thick and fast, giving excellent insight into what is happening in the South African economy.
Retailers always seem to capture the imagination of investors, perhaps because they offer the easiest opportunity for due diligence work. After all, you can simply visit your local store to get a better understanding of the strategy. You can speak to your friends to see how they feel about the retailer and whether they enjoy shopping there. Heck, you can just take note of all the turquoise scooters you have to avoid in the traffic each day...
