Police watchdog needs to assure the public that the KZN killings were within — not above — the law

Two suspects were killed in KwaZulu-Natal during a skirmish with the police, who had intervened in an attempted robbery of a businessman.
They join a dozen other suspects who have been killed in the past few weeks — a mix of wanted suspects and those caught in the middle of a crime scene. None of the deceased were linked to the pre-election campaign season or the politically motivated killings the province is notorious for...
