COMMUNICATIONS Minister Faith Muthambi has not "formally received" a letter from the SABC board requesting that former chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng be reappointed in an acting capacity."The ministry is aware of a letter purporting to be from the SABC, suggesting that the board request approval for the appointment of Hlaudi Motsoeneng as acting chief operating officer," Muthambi’s office said in a statement."We want to state categorically that we have not formally received such letter from the SABC board for the minister’s consideration."A memo from group company secretary Theresa Geldenhuys to board members, proposing that Motsoeneng be appointed acting chief operating officer until December 2016, came to light on Thursday.Motsoeneng is effectively an ordinary SABC employee after the Supreme Court of Appeal earlier this week dismissed his application for leave to appeal a ruling by the High Court in Cape Town, which set aside his permanent appointment.Ministry spokesman...
