The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) has called on Parliament to probe the sudden departure of South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) CEO Thokozani Magwaza. The union said on Wednesday that Parliament’s failure to get to the bottom of the matter would mean it had "failed to protect the honest public servants who are trying very hard to do their work diligently, but also the public at large". "Should the Minister of Social Development (Bathabile Dlamini) be found to have lied to the public, we call on the President (Jacob Zuma) to do the correct thing and take immediate action by removing the minister."
