Toyota and Subaru link up on electric SUV to split production costs
Carmakers look to share new vehicle technologies which require massive investment

Tokyo — Toyota and Subaru say they plan to jointly develop a battery-electric sport-utility vehicle (SUV) on a platform produced together as they seek to split the cost of producing the lower-emissions car.
The pair will apply Subaru’s all-wheel-drive technologies and Toyota’s vehicle electrification technologies to the new SUV, which each will sell under its own brands, the carmakers said on Thursday. ..
